abandoned-places

Old buildings, abandoned hospitals, industrial palaces overgrown with plants and trees, the remaining walls decorated with graffiti, smashed windows, rain dripping through the roof...
These places have become hard to find, difficult (or illegal) to access, dangerous to explore ... great to spend the day !

---------------

Today, the pyramids of the industrial revolution just uselessly stand in the way, they're a scar in the landscape. The deafening noises have been replaced by silence, but if you listen carefully they will tell you their story.

Abandoned hospitals where you can still smell the anxiety of the ill, where you can hear the coughing of the TBC infected and where once doctors and nurses walked through the shiny corridors.

A 100 years old hotel, standing proudly at the waterfront, arrogantly overlooking the beach and fiercely withstanding all the storms of the past century, a decayed symbol of wealth for the rich.

Why are abandoned places so attractive ?

rabbitscantbesick

I love this minimal concept

being spontanious is the root of all knowledgeable ideas, it all started with a birthday present wich we didnt have enough money to have get gift wrapped, we wroted messages over the present wich was by this time concealed by brown parcel paper and scotch tape. After the present was recieved by the birthday girl we continued to elaborate messages onto brown paper, and as we are both graffiti artists also, decided to place them in the best home, the streets. do not fuel yourself with falicy or pladurism, stay true to what you belive and allways be yourself, take whatever you want from our project, if you like it thats fine, if you hate it thats fine also. we enjoy everyones feedback and have never been into name calling. thankyou for your time because,

Tracking Koalas From Space

The University of Queensland and mining company Rio Tinto Coal Australia (RTCA) are using satellite technology to track koalas from space. Their partnership, Koala Venture, started about 15 years ago to study the habitat and diet of the koalas living near the Blair Athol Mine. In a new stage of the partnership, koalas will be fitted with special satellite tracking collars. They hope to understand the way a koala sees its surroundings, and of course to better manage the koala population, their safety and security. Apparently, these koalas are lucky, because other studies say that they could be extinct in 15 years.

Aysia Danielle Polk: Who's Nabil ??????????

"Nabil is 16 yers old and he is in the 5th garde in highscool. The grades are different in iraq. Nabil is a boy that just wants to have fun, he loves playing games and his favorite sports are football/soccer and wrestling. He loves playing video games so it seems as if nothing really matters to him but he does still care about making good marks in school. He currently lives in bagdad, Iraq. Nabils English is not that strong. you can tell by the way he writes. He likes to be with his friends and it seems as if he's not that much into girls. "

The Language Construction Kit

This set of webpages (what's a set of webpages? a webchapter?) is intended for anyone who wants to create artificial languages-- for a fantasy or an alien world, as a hobby, as an interlanguage. It presents linguistically sound methods for creating naturalistic languages-- which can be reversed to create non-naturalistic languages. It suggests further reading for those who want to know more, and shortcuts for those who want to know less.
--Mark Rosenfelder
