De Acht vzw, is door de Vlaamse Gemeenschap erkend als lokaal integratiecentrum voor Antwerpen-stad. Met de vluchtelingencel (Haven) en de woonwagencel ontwikkelt "de Acht" initiatieven die de emancipatie en de volwaardige participatie van etnisch-culturele minderheden in de stad helpen bevorderen. We doen dit in nauwe samenwerking met de hier wonende allochtonen, vluchtelingen en woonwagenbewoners en hun organisaties. We werken mee aan de realisatie van een onthaalbeleid voor nieuwkomers en de uitbouw van een opvang- en begeleidingsnetwerk voor mensen zonder papieren.

"de Acht" vzw, de vluchtelingen- en de woonwagencel richten zich tot instellingen en diensten die de toegankelijkheid en de kwaliteit van hun werking voor etnisch-culturele minderheidsgroepen willen verhogen. Dat kunnen beleidsinstanties en stadsdiensten zijn, maar ook scholen, welzijnsorganisaties, opleidings- en tewerkstellingsinitiatieven, huisvestingsmaatschappijen...
